We are a 5 minute drive, 15 minute bike or 25 minute walk uphill from Snug Cove, where the ferry docks. The best way to get to Bowen Island is by taking BC Ferries from Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal in West Vancouver to Snug Cove Ferry Terminal on Bowen Island. You can either drive, walk or bike onto the ferry. The Queen of Capilano ferry leaves Horseshoe Bay between 5:50am and 10:30pm (subject to change) roughly every hour. The crossing time is 20 minutes. If you're travelling by BC Ferries, your ticket includes a return trip. When you head back to the mainland from Bowen, line up for the ferry in the marked lane along Bowen Island Trunk Road. Yes, we have one parking spot per suite at the main house, as well as two parking spots for the cabin guests at the cabin. Please note: Our driveway is very steep and cemented all the way down, so if you prefer, we have a gravel parking pad at the road, 100m past our driveway entrance. *During the winter season, we recommend parking at the road if the driveway or the conditions during your stay are icy and/or covered in snow.*

No, you're welcome to bring your own bike, but know that Bowen Island is very hilly and not an easy ride. In the summer months, you can rent eBikes from Bowen eBikes, located in Snug Cove. They offer a drop-off and pickup option from the ferry terminal.

The suites are located in the main house, on the wings of the house - two on the north side and two on the south side. The main house is down by the water. The owners (Melissa & Dominic) live in the centre part of the main house. The suites range between 200 sq.ft to 250 sq.ft. Each suite has its own private exterior entrance, king/queen bed, private bathroom with rain shower, heated bathroom floor and heated towel rack, flat screen TV, dining area, and kitchenette. The suites will have access to three outdoor lounge areas and a shared hot tub. All suites have access to high speed wi-fi and Netflix. Sleeps 2 people. The cabin is located in the centre of the property - half way down from the driveway entrance. The rental space is one level and about 1,000 sq.ft. with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room with a sofa bed, full kitchen, large patio, and private hot tub. It has access to high speed wifi and Netflix. Sleeps 4-6 people (4 adults and 2 kids). Please note: No children under 12 years old in our suites, but are welcome in our modern cabin. The suites are private rooms inside our main house and you can occasionally hear us upstairs as well as other guests in the rooms beside, so please be mindful and respectful of that.

Each suite has its own kitchenette equipped with a mini-fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, and Keurig coffee machine. Dishware and cutlery are also provided. The cabin is a full kitchen equipped with a fridge, stove, oven, microwave, kitchen sink, dishwasher, blender, toaster, kettle, and Keurig coffee machine. No, we don't provide any meals, but there are some great restaurants on island, as well as two grocery stores. We highly recommend checking out these local restaurants & cafes: Barcelona Tapas & Wine Bar, Tuscany, Artisan Eats Cafe, Bowen Island Pub, Tell Your Friends Cafe, & The Snug Cafe.

Yes, we provide each suite and the cabin with Keurig coffee pods and a selection of tea packets.

Yes, we allow children and infants in the cabin, but no children under 12 years old in our suites. Our suites have a two person maximum, so in general our cabin is a better option for families and children as it's a completely separate dwelling from the other guests. The cabin sleeps 4 adults (+19 yrs) and 2 children (0-18 yrs).

No, we do not welcome pets to our property due to allergies.

Full payment is required to confirm your reservation. If you need to make a cancellation, please contact us at info@hummingbirdoceanside.com. Reservations are not transferable. Cancellations with 5 days or more notice of your arrival date are refunded the full amount less a $50 cancellation fee per suite or cabin booked. No refunds are available for reservations canceled within 5 days of arrival. Early departures will be responsible for 100% of each remaining night reserved.
